The OC

Yes I am a big fan of The O.C.. I blame uni friends mostly =P. Season 3 has just come to an end in Australia, very sad but I loved every moment of it. Everyone graduating, lots of fun, of-cos the after parties, and everyone who is supposed to be together is. Besides the after parties, it reminded me of my graduation from Uni (only happened a few months ago).

I was impressed and felt good closure with the ending of Marissa's character in the show. The episode prepared you for her leaving when she decides to go off and work with her father on a boat. And that also gave me a sense that she was going to mature, become someone better than who she had been already. Then with having her die, it closed off her character for good instead of making the ending feel lame with having her just go off to another location.

I can't wait for the next season =).

PORTAL

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/18/first-trailer-of-valves-portal-released/

I just found this AWESOME new game that Valve is working on. Called Portal, its basically about portals. So you can put portals in different places and travel between them. Essentially that is a powerful weapon. The video below shows the different situations you could use portals in, and the dangers of getting in a loop =).

I am definitely buying this game when it comes out.

Windows Live Messenger + Yahoo

Microsoft and Yahoo have finally released evidence of their apparent coming merger of their IM services.

The latest beta releases of Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger allow you to chat to people on either network. This merger has created the largest IM network in the world now, coming in at over 350 million users.

The two companies are also boasting the use of SSL for message encryption.
